Urbanus Wedaaba Azupogo is a Ph.D. candidate in Kinesiology and Health Studies at Queen's University and the founder of Faciotech. His research focuses on water security, schistosomiasis, social innovation in health, disability inclusion, and social protection in low- and middle-income countries.

With 6 peer-reviewed publications, guest lectureships at Hofstra and St. Lawrence universities, and a decade of entrepreneurial experience founding Faciotech and other ventures across Ghana and Canada, he brings a unique blend of academic rigor and operational insight to global health and development challenges.
Full Bio
Urbanus Wedaaba Azupogo is a Ph.D. candidate in Kinesiology and Health Studies at Queen's University, where he also serves as a research associate at the Centre for Environmental Health Equity. His doctoral research focuses on empowering women through climate-responsive community health information to tackle schistosomiasis. He has co-authored 6 peer-reviewed journal articles spanning water security, disability-inclusive WASH, and social protection, with additional manuscripts under review. Urbanus has delivered invited guest lectures at Hofstra University, St. Lawrence University, and Queen's University, and has presented at major conferences including the Canadian Association of Geographers and the Canadian Conference on Global Health. Beyond academia, he is the founder of Faciotech, a technology firm operating across Ghana and Canada, and co-founder of Faciotech Foundation, a non-profit leveraging technology for social development. He holds an MSc in Kinesiology and Health Studies from Queen's University and an MSc in Land Governance and Policy from KNUST.
