Abstract

Africa's response to pioneering innovative research and formulating comprehensive land governance policies is recent. The African Land Policy Centre has prioritized knowledge acquisition and capacity development through its Network of Excellence for Land Governance in Africa. Despite progress, regional and local gaps persist regarding research impacts on governance capacity. This paper contends that semi-formal and informal research networks focusing on individual researchers can enhance collaborations among African researchers, improve co-creation of knowledge based on locally observed and scientifically investigated scenarios.
